Bewitched by JK Candlen-Weekend Writing Warriors #5 February 21, 2015

Before anyone says anything, I’m sorry I left you hanging with Iris and Bev. They have been up to no good and it has taken most of my time to reign them in.

For the readers who haven’t been following along, Iris has just cooked up a love potion for Bev. But something might have gone wrong. I guess you could say the small explosion was a telltale sign.

Feel free to look back at the previous posts to catch up. So without wasting any more time, here are the next 8 sentences for my Weekend Writing Warriors. If you like what you read, follow me on Twitter @JKCandlen or check me out on FB.

“I sure hope it does. I have a date with Rick tonight and I know he is the one,” Bev said eagerly. Iris gave her a sideward glance. Her friend was always chasing after the happy ever after. Was there any such thing? She didn’t think so.

The reaction picked at Iris’s thoughts. Did Aunt Alice leave anything out of the recipe?

  1. Your 8 sentences leave me wanting to know what’s next for Iris and Bev! More please, more! My only suggestion is to leave out the adverb “eagerly”… you do a great job conveying the character’s eagerness with her dialogue, the extra word in the dialogue tag could be dropped.
